The Escola Latino-Americana de Matemática - UFABC is a meeting organized by the UFABC with the support of UMALCA. Mini-symposium organized in the 6to Congreso de Matemática Aplicada, Computacional e Industrial (MACI) from Argentina. This special session of MACI brought together researchers working with probability theory, and related fields, to share the latest results and challenges in the modelling of random structures and stochastic processes. This event arose as an initiative of a São Paulo Research Foundation thematic project/grant titled “Stochastic Modeling of Interacting Systems,” which aims to bring together probabilists from the organizing centers, other important universities in São Paulo state, and invited participants from both national and international institutions. This fourth edition was a forum to discuss some new developments in probability theory and its applications, i.e., stochastic processes, percolation, interacting particle systems, random graphs, stochastic calculus and their applications.

Special Session organized in the First Joint Meeting Brazil - Italy in Mathematics. The aim of this session was to present some classic results and new challenges on stochastic processes in random environment both from the theoretical and applied points of view.
